Our summer days are numbered, and I’m not sure where they all went. Leaves of rust, red, and orange will not be the only transformation we realize as we head into autumn. Seasons of life remind me the harder I strive to slow time down, the faster it marches on. It feels like only days ago we were seeing our eldest, Joe, off to college. Now my college graduate—as the kids at home say—is busy “adulting.” Miss Rays of Grace starts her senior year this fall and is diligently making college plans and visits. We are lucky to live in a part of the country that experiences all the seasons. Summer is so greatly anticipated here and happens so briefly that, if you are anything like me, you want to be outside to enjoy as much of it as possible—which means a lot less time indoors worrying about how the house looks. Labor Day marks the last hooray of summer. Soon the leaves will fall and children will be headed back to school. Life will fall back into a routine.
